About Us
The Heart of England Recorder Orchestra is a group of enthusiastic and experienced recorder players of all ages, from all over the country, meeting in Meriden.
HERO has had a variety of conductors since its inception. Read their individual stories to understand how they have each shaped the orchestra.
New members are always welcome, and a single session is just £5 (£3 for under 18s). As well as a good standard of technical ability, ensemble experience and good sight reading are the most important criteria.
